Happy New Year, ya’ll!
With the new year brings new beginnings. If 2017 was awful you get an automatic “restart” button and a chance to refresh and correct your path. There is something so uplifting about being able to set new goals and start a new.
If you read a previous post of mine, I decided to ditch the idea and standard of specific resolutions. For me, they almost always mean failure. When the end of the year hits I’m left with how much I’ve fallen short of my lofty goals so this year, I’m choosing a word.
I was late to the game on this word picking thing so I picked my 2017 word: respect in May. It served me so well. I couldn’t fail at respecting, I can’t even really 100% succeed at it… I could only use every decision to infuse more respect into my life in all aspects.
So for this year:
I’m choosing this word for all aspects of my life but some areas that pop into my head are to be intentional in faith, finishing the Bible in 2018, finishing my 2018 reading challenge list, intention in scheduling and *babywise* training these twins, intentional with my spending, intentional saving, intentional with my time and being realistic with my abilities, limits. Intentional in prayer, in self sacrifice, in homeschooling, in simplifying life, in organizing.
You get the idea!
I’m thrilled to have a direction for this year and even more thrilled that I can only improve in being intentional I can’t all out fail! Which, for this stretched thin mama, it’s just what I need!
