Hi ya’ll. I’m Heather.
I’m a life long military brat, displaced Virginian, proud Jesus loving, Catholic momma with 2 beautiful, hot mess kiddos, a cat, a dog, and a husband that tolerates us all. I love to take pictures, naps, binge watch the same 2 shows on Netflix (Grey’s Anatomy and Friends). I hate winter but love the fall. Love having clean counters and the smell of Thieves cleaner (I don’t sell it, don’t worry…).
I’ve been told for years that I should start a blog. Mostly because my 3 year old is ridiculous. And the stories about him are ridiculous. But I didn’t really know where to start. For a while now I’ve had it on my heart to share my hot mess – so that other moms know that this is honestly the norm – not the perfect pinterest parties, angelic children, gourmet dinners out and fancy date nights. The norm is huge piles of laundry, never feeling like you quite know what the heck is going on, barely keeping your head afloat, but its not normal to be miserable.
I’ve worked quite hard to end the misery of motherhood and find the joy and thats where I feel I’m called – to help others who are in the trenches of the hot mess to find joy in it all.
I’m a mom who has battled with depression, before and after kids. Anxiety – pretty much constantly – and I’m so raw and real.. because I don’t know how to be any other way.
My prayer is that you can get some silly out of this but also some support and some “ah! ok, so its not just me!” out of it too!
So, all aboard the Holy Hot Mess Express. Jesus is the conductor but ya’ll its still a wild ride! Welcome to the train!
